    What Really Causes Acne?

What Triggers Acne? The fact of the matter is that there is not just one specific cause of acne. There are several things that can trigger an acne outbreak. Hormones, stress, medications, cosmetics, and diet can all contribute to an outbreak. It is foolish to believe that all acne is caused by the same thing or that separate acne outbreaks in the same individual are caused by the same thing. That just isn’t necessarily true.

Strange as it may sound, over zealous facial cleansing can actually contribute to an outbreak of acne. Scrubbing the face really hard with a washcloth can stimulate the sebaceous glands into producing more sebum.

You really do not want to do that as it does contribute to acne. Twice-a-day gentle face washing is sufficient and preferable to hard face scrubbing. You cant scrub acne away. Scrubbing exacerbates the problem.

Some medications can cause an acne outbreak. Its true. Some medication used to treat asthma and thyroid problems as well as medications used to treat convulsions, depression and to prevent the body from rejecting a transplant can all cause the sebaceous glands to produce too much sebum and cause acne. When you see a dermatologist, you should always provide him with a complete list of any medications that you may be taking. If you are a female, try changing brands of cosmetics before you begin treating the acne.

If you are under a great deal of stress, try yoga or meditation to try to relieve the stress and see if your acne problem goes away with just simple stress reduction. There is a definite link between the mind and the body, stress and acne. Try adding zinc, Vitamins A, C and B6, chromium and selenium either through the food you eat or by adding supplements.

Food doesn’t cause acne but the lack of nutrients can and does cause acne. So be sure to watch and monitor your food intake to make sure you are getting the freshest possible food.

Getting Clear Skin Isn’t About Some Fancy Cream – It’s About Healing Your Internal Imbalances

The acne business is a large entrenched industry, with huge amounts of money to throw around on advertising and brain washing. Even the pharmaceutical industry has a big stake in this business because of the prescription on antibiotics in the treatment of acne.

The fact is that antibiotics is the worst treatment for acne ever devised. Does it work? Well, yes, it can work fairly well. But, these wonder drugs will kill off your good as well as harmful bacteria in your intestines, causing serious damage to your immune system. Also, new conditions like leaky gut syndrome have been linked to the long term use of antibiotics. This causes fatigue, low energy, arthritis, depression, among other things. That’s what we get with usual acne treatments, some benefit but also terrible side effects.

Over the counter acne treatments and even fancy creams and lotions that you see on TV don’t treat the root cause of acne. And several times they may leave our skin much worse off. These products usually over dry and irritate our skin, leaving it red and looking even worse. It’s not a good solution.

We need to be going to the heart of the matter and treating our problem with a natural methods which not only clear our skin but create a healthier and more beautiful person in the process, that’s real healing. Natural methods involve topical skin care with natural treatments as well as internal healing of imbalances, and hormone balancing.

Each individual case of acne is different and can be treated with natural methods slightly differently. For some, removing certain foods and beverages is critical, for others it’s not an issue. For example several people have undiagnosed food allergies, commonly with wheat or dairy. A lot of times these issues are hard to detect, but rotating the foods out of the diet will help us know for sure.

Some people have heavy metal toxicity issues, especially if you live in an urban area. Toxins and low immunity are big problems and cause acne in several people. A detox diet or a detox juicing diet may be necessary to clear up the skin.

It’s best to educate yourself on all the natural healing methods available. Acne is an awful condition because it lowers our self esteem and effects every area of our lives. Studies show that people with clear skin are h applicationier, more socially active, make more money, are more attractive, and so on and so on.
